Table Tennis Tournament at Tropical Group Bali
Celebrating the road to anniversary, Tropical Group Bali held some fun activities as an appreciation for a long adventure full of learning, growth, and success. One of the highlights of this 13th anniversary was the Sports Tournament. All outlets from Tropical Group including Tropical Restaurant, Coco Bistro Restaurant, Black Penny Villas, and Ubud Padi Villas participated in this tournament. The first tournament was held on Thursday, November 23rd, 2023 with table tennis for the first game. Table tennis, also known as ping-pong was chosen because it is an exciting game that requires both speed and strategic planning, as well as energic team.
The aim of the game is to hit the ball back and forth over a net, with the ball landing on the opponent’s side of the table. Points are awarded when the opponent fails to return the ball or hits it out of bounds. Points in table tennis are scored when the opponent fails to return the ball. A point is also awarded to the serving player if the opponent hits the ball into the net or out of bounds. The first player to reach 11 points wins the game.
In this table tennis match, eight teams competed to win the first prize. Each team was represented by two players, male and female. Each of them stands on either side of a table and hits a small lightweight ball across the table using paddles.
Held in Tropical Group Bali Head Office, the tournament of this table tennis game was opened by Tropical Group Bali’s Directors and Management match. The director’s team was represented by Pak Bendiasa. And then, it continued to the eight teams match. The elimination round was one set of game with 11 points. While for the third place winner and the final match was played in two sets with 11 points for each set. After an exciting and very intense match by vibrant and energic teams, this table tennis game was won by Restaurant 2 Team, followed by Holding Team as the runner-up, and Villa Team as the second runner-up or third place.
