Celebrating Tropical Group Bali’s 13th Anniversary
with Futsal Tournament
In order to celebrate the 13th anniversary, Tropical Group Bali held a series of road to anniversary activities. One of them was the Futsal Tournament. Futsal is not only a fun and challenging sport to stay active and healthy, but it also fosters a sense of teamwork among the players. That is why futsal was chosen as one of their anniversary activity to engage with Tropical Group Bali’s employees.
Futsal is a variation of football that is played on a smaller indoor court. It is a fast-paced, exciting sport that has become increasingly popular around the world. Unlike traditional indoor football, futsal is played with a smaller, heavier ball that encourages a low, skimming style of play. Futsal rewards technical skill and creativity. With the smaller ball and tighter spaces, players must be adept at dribbling, passing, and shooting in order to succeed. Quick thinking, improvisation, and nimble footwork are essential in futsal, making it a perfect environment for players to hone their skills.
Tropical Group Bali Futsal Tournament was held in 2 days, on 24-25 November 2023, located in Freedom Futsal Arena, Jimbaran Bali. The contestants were the employees of Tropical Group Bali from all outlets which were divided into six teams. They were Holding A Team, Holding B Team, Restaurant A Team, Restaurant B Team, SPBU Team, and Villa Team. The elimination round was held on Friday, 24 November, 2023. The first ball was kicked by Tropical Group Bali General Manager, Pak Wayan Sugita as an initiation of the beginning of the tournament.
Each team had five players, including a goalkeeper who was the only player allowed to touch the ball with their hands. The objective of the game was to score more goals than the opposing team within 2×15 minutes match. The game was controlled by a professional futsal referee. All the teams played very well. They were all energetic and excited to win the game and become the champion.
What made the game so exciting was the players’ speed and intensity. With a smaller court and fewer players, the action was constant and relentless, with players constantly moving, passing, and shooting. It made the game more vibrant and entertaining.
After getting the finalist in the elimination round, the match was continued the next day to determine the third place, second place, as well as the champion. The winner of this futsal tournament was Restaurant Team A. The second place was won by Holding A Team, followed by Villa Team in third place.
This futsal tournament was a fun activity for Tropical Group Bali employees. It could help break up the monotony of the workweek and allow employees to bond outside of the office environment. Moreover, futsal could help improve communication and collaboration within the workplace among the employees. Since the game involved quick decision-making and coordination, the employees learned to work together and communicate effectively on the field.
